Status is still initial review on 485 and when checked with infopass I was told that my case in in extended review.

Retrogression affects ALL countries. ROW EB3 has been retrogressed for some time.
Please be careful to not spread misconceptions about who is, or is not, affected.
Well, right now it is all "U" on the visa bulletin, you are right. But I assure you that come October and the following months there will be visas for our Egyptian friend and ROW.

You can reschedule it as many times as you need. There is no limit. However, going by my experience, rescheduling third time will have the USCIS put your request at the bottom of the pile and it takes for ever to get the 3rd appointment letter.
Like in my case, go to a not-so-busy ASC (preferably in the non-urban area) and they will do your FP without a need to reschedule.

My spouse burnt one of the finger and has a blister right at the spot where we take FP. So I am not sure if they will reschedule her or not. When we got her FP notice , we made some travel plans after the FP date but unfortunately this incident happened. So I was wondering if I can just take the photocopy of the original FP notice (as for reschedule , we will have give up the original notice) and drive to another ASC after the finger heals and try to complete it there rather than wait for the original ASC to send us the rescheduled date. Is there a way to find out which ASCs allow walk in and which I dont. I am based in Boston and so pretty sure Boston ASC does not allow to walk in. They go strictly by appointments. BerkeleyBee, I have contacted Jay but i am not sure how much i will be able to help with this one in particular. I have a few questions:
1) What exactly does the membership drive entail?
2) How does the process work?
3) Is there a team already established? If it is then how many members does it have?
BTW i DID attend the conference call, but due to connection problems, i was not able to follow the membership drive part. If a team is already established, then the point i was trying to make was, some members of that team can work on converting existing "free" members to "paid" members.

I am not sure how the Bill gets intorduced into the senate...but if only the h1 increase is the sticking point in the skil .....for now lets only focus of the visa retrogression and the waiver for visa numbers for people with STEM degrees and quicker processing of BEC's....I think we need to get the benefit in smaller chunks...

I'm trying to figure out the reasoning behind Mexico's numbers as well. According to the latest cut-off date tables http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/EmploymentDemandUsedForCutOffDates.pdf
Mexico has about 5,800 folks total for EB-3 in the queue so far, but we have seen very little movement in the past years. My questions to the forum:
1) Is the slow movement due to so many cases in field offices not yet reported?
2) Do family-based numbers take away from the 7% of 140K visas a year or are these solely for EB?
3) Any idea why movement is so slow for Mexico given the numbers of people currently in the queue?
Theories are welcome.

I received email from USCIS this morning for my wife I-485 i.e Card Ordered for Production. I am the Primary applicant, but i am still waiting for my turn. My PD is Sep 2004 & EB2.
We booked our tickets to India before we received this email. I am travelling in 3rd week of Sep. We both have new AP's. So is i have to wait here in USA to receive the Card or can i proceed with my actual plan?. Can anybody share their expertise?.

My wife's finger printing fee was rejected last month, even though we submitted the right fee.
We still submitted the fee again. In the mean while, we got our finger printing notices.
Do u know when we would get our EADs ? Is anyone in a similar situation ?

First of all what is Finger printing fee? FP is part of your 485 process so i is not charged seperately... secondly yes EAD can come before FP... and they are not related EAD is Form I765 and FP is related to I485. Check with your lawyer if you had applied for EAD or not...if not then apply if yes then wait you will get it too...

For my spouse,

1. First I 94 was taken at the airport and got the new one while we came back and one of the requirement is the copy of I 94
How and where can I get a copy (I never made a copy of that).
Note: Spouse passport has stamping but the requirement is copy of I 94
any help or suggestoins where can we get a copy. We have applied for states Id's in two different states where they made copies of I 94 but at that time I never though of making copies of it.

It's family-based, so I believe the 245(k) act doesn't apply to me. Then again, I didn't really work because buying/selling online takes a few clicks.

I received the very heartbreaking news that my EB3 PERM application filed OCT 2007 (with audit) was denied. Audit was requesting a copy of the Newspaper AD which the lawyer sent last NOV 2007. Reson for denial was because the copy that the DOL recieved was not clear and some words as part of the Newspaper name was missing.... An appeal will be filed soon.
Any suggestions from the gurus?
I have bachelors with more than 5 years of experience, is it adviseable to file new PERM under EB2 category?
For people who filed motion for an appeal, could you please post your feedbacks/experiences?

My wife got her EAD but mine has not arrived. No AP yet for either..
Online status still shows 'Application received and pending" for both...have they stopped updating USCIS online status.
Is it normal or something to worry about..

Can you start residency on EAD if you are the primary for 485? Meaning, can you use AC21 and change jobs from research to residency after 180 days from filing? Please help, really confused.

We must ask specialists like Greg Siskind or Stephen Perlitsh.
It would be a good idea if we setuup a conference call with either of these residency gurus, unless you know someone else who is the best.
There is a group called IV Physicians, 'paskal' runs this group. So if you are doing research, residency etc... you must join this group.
